Mission
To be a pioneering structure that encourages on-site separation of waste, spreads zero waste awareness, conducts education and awareness studies; implements environmentally friendly policies, strategies and practices in order to ensure environmental sustainability at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University.
Vision
To make our university an environmentally friendly university that is shown as an example in the field of zero waste management, that educates individuals with high environmental responsibility awareness; and that is recognized nationally and internationally with its innovative, participatory and sustainable waste management systems.
Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Zero Waste Management Coordination; Within the scope of the Zero Waste Project implemented in our country, it carries out the establishment and implementation of the zero waste management system in all campuses and independent buildings of our University, obtaining zero waste documents, providing necessary training, carrying out activities to prevent and reduce waste generation, and ensuring that wastes are collected separately according to their types at the source and recycled. Thus, support is provided for the implementation of the Zero Waste project in our country and contribution to the circular economy, efficient use of natural resources and sustainable environmental management.
Our coordination unit is responsible for the management of all hazardous and non-hazardous wastes originating from different sources at the University. It ensures that these wastes are collected separately from other wastes at the source where they are generated and in accordance with the technical procedure and manages the processes of sending them to institutions licensed by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey for disposal purposes. In addition, our unit aims to increase the awareness of our university staff and students about the Zero Waste Project and the sustainability of the project through projects, artistic and cultural activities that we will prepare.
