Waste Management is a management style that includes reducing waste at its source, separating it according to its characteristics, collecting, temporary storage, intermediate storage, recovery, transportation, disposal and control after disposal processes and similar processes.

Waste management is the minimization of medical, domestic and hazardous or non-hazardous waste, source search, separate collection, transfer of stored waste to centers when necessary, waste processing, disposal, recycling, recovery and closure processes and disposal facilities, closure maintenance, monitoring and control processes in a management style.

Trying to solve the pressure on the environment with a single approach is not enough for the waste problem. However, effective waste management can be created with combinations of all methods. This approach, which is accepted internationally, has led to the adoption of “Integrated Waste Management”.

In integrated waste management, the aim is to ensure sustainability both environmentally and economically by evaluating the elements of waste management as a whole. In this context, waste management cannot be expected to be directed at only one type of waste or one source.
